IMSI Design Releases TurboCAD® Mac 17

IMSI Design has unveiled TurboCAD® Mac® 17, available across four editions: Designer, Deluxe, Pro, and Platinum. The release targets mechanical designers, architects, makers, and industry professionals with updates spanning AI-powered visualization, XREF workflow enhancements, refreshed interface graphics, expanded modeling tools, and new rendering resources.

Interface Updates

The software features revamped SVG tool icons and comprehensive light- and dark-mode graphics refinements across dialogs and palettes, delivering enhanced clarity on modern Mac displays.

XREF Enhancements

Referenced-object workflows now run more efficiently through lightweight XREF loading that reduces memory usage and file size by up to 10× for complex mechanical components. A new Attach Folder function enables bulk imports of parts as referenced objects for large assemblies.

AI-Powered Tools

Copilot Render transforms sketches and models into visual concepts from natural-language descriptions. Copilot Part Finder provides natural-language search across a library of more than 770,000 CAD components, including ANSI, ISO, and DIN standards.

Advanced Modeling & Rendering

A new Skin Solid with Center Line function creates swept solids from ordered profiles along paths, and the enhanced Pipe tool now supports Rounded Rectangle, N-Sided, and Coil cross-sections with associative geometry. The release also adds six new studio backgrounds, six carbon-fiber textures, and eight wood materials for presentation-ready visualizations.
