IMSI Design Releases TurboCAD® 2026

IMSI Design has announced the availability of TurboCAD® 2026, featuring over 100 new capabilities. The release advances performance, interoperability, visualization, and AI-assisted design across architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and visualization workflows.

Performance & Interface

The software introduces a modernized interface with dark/light theme options, a redesigned drawing menu, and an enhanced command finder with predictive suggestions. The Drafting Palette adapts dynamically to models while maintaining annotation stability.

Installation & File Compatibility

A unified multi-language installer includes English, French, and German localization, with the ability to switch languages without reinstalling. Updated Teigha libraries improve DWG/DXF support, and the release adds direct 2D Adobe PDF import with editable geometry conversion. The Platinum variant receives updated native translators for SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, and Solid Edge.

Design Tools & Rendering

New capabilities include Graphic on Path for curve-based object placement and an enhanced Split Tool. Sheet metal workflows gain Direct 2D Unfolding and an improved Unbend Tool with K-Factor adjustments, alongside Closed Loft options and Imprint Projection for embedding curves or text into solids. ACIS rendering delivers 10–15× faster render-prep for multi-material models, and the Visualize engine received updates for smoother navigation and improved complex assembly display.

Copilot AI Integration

Copilot Render generates concept imagery directly within drawings from descriptive language about style, lighting, materials, or atmosphere, with results saved as Named Views for future reference. The Command Assistant interprets natural-language requests to surface relevant tools, and a Smart Help Trigger displays contextual guidance during tool activation.
